Though maybe the page had heavy traffic and wasn't loading, so I kept going back and still was getting a blank page - then I decided to try it on Yok, page came right up and I was able to downloading and install in about 60 seconds.

Jan 23, PM. I finally did reach the download site for Java SE 6 runtime. However, as the download started I my iMac crashed in a big way. I had to manually power down and restart. Since then Safari will not work. I really do not miss Safari but since OS X has it hard wired into all web links I have to do extra work to move a link into Firefox. Life should not be so difficult.
